PUBG map selection is in the works

Fans have been screaming for a PUBG map selection feature for some time now. Today PUBG Corp announced that the map selection feature has been in the works and is close to being released on their test server.

PUBG Corp wanted to make sure this feature would’t break the game for anybody or increase matchmaking times across modes or servers. The developer stated “Ultimately, we created a version of map selection that we think is unlikely to cause issues for matchmaking. That said, we’ll still have to keep a close eye on it, since it could become problematic as new maps continue to be added.” Hopefully they are right and this feature will be added without an issues. Especially with the release of the new and very different Savage map on the horizon.

PUBG Corp released a sample screenshot of the user interface but the final UI could vary from this version once released. Players will be able to click which maps they would like to play. You will have the option of clicking multiple maps, in this case the maps you selected will be selected randomly during your gameplay.

This definitely looks like a welcomed addition to the game and it’s nice to know that PUBG Corp is listening to their fans. Don’t forget that PUBG is offered as a free play title this weekend for Xbox live gold members.
